When to order sperm

We ship to Europe in 1-2 business days. 3-5 days outside Europe, depending on country. However, we recommend that you place orders online or by email at least 10 business days before the expected arrival date at the clinic to ensure a smooth, stress-free ordering and delivery process. Deliveries are made on business days (Monday-Friday). Should there be an exceptional circumstance, we will do all that is possible to accommodate you.

We ship worldwide

We ship your sperm order to any destination worldwide *. Shipments to countries outside Europe maytake longer than a week due to customs processing and longer transit times. We recommend that you make sure your clinic has the correct import licence, if needed.

* Please note! We are not allowed to ship sperm to the USA due to restrictions on Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (mad cow disease). However, women from the USA can order sperm for treatments in another country.

How we ship the sperm order

Each unit of sperm is shipped frozen in a straw. Straws are specifically made for safe cryo-storage of human sperm in liquid nitrogen and nitrogen vapour.

The straws have welded ends to keep the sperm safe from contamination and tampering.

Each straw is held in a plastic tube clipped to a metal support rod (called a "cane") to facilitate straw removal from the tank.

The tank is refrigerated with liquid nitrogen trapped in spongy material to prevent spillage, which is why it is called a 'dry shipper'.

Maximum storage in the holding tank

The advantage of using dry shipper tanks instead of dry ice is that it gives an unopened tank a consistent temperature for 1-3 weeks, depending on the size of the tank. This keeps your straws safe and allows time for a potential transport delay or long transit time. We carefully choose the optimal tank size for your shipment.

Included in the shipping cost

The shipping cost also includes the return of the shipping tank back to us.

How to order sperm online

Payment by credit card

You can pay your online order by credit card, including Visa, MasterCard and Dankort, or by International Bank Transfer.

Details needed to place an order of sperm online:

• Shipping address for licensed physician/clinic's name, address, email address and phone number
• Patient name, address, date of birth, email address, phone number
• Credit card information

If you want to order via email, we need the following details:

• Full name
• Address
• National insurance number/social security number
• Date of birth
• Clinic name and address
• Donor name
• The number and type of units

 

Once we have received your order in writing, we issue an invoice; if you pay by bank transfer, it usually takes 3-5 business days before we have the payment registered. The units are shipped as soon as possible after the receipt of the payment or at a prior arranged date; if you need a rush delivery, please contact us via email at info@europeanspermbank.com.

Safe online ordering

Your data are transmitted via an encrypted secure connection. This means that all personal information submitted via our secure connection will not be readable by anyone attempting to intercept the transmission. This ensures your security and privacy.

Order confirmation

You will receive a confirmation email. The email includes purchased items, the amount charged to your credit card and an order number. Please check you spam filter if you cannot find the email.

Confidentiality of personal details

Reproduction is a very personal matter and we respect your desire for privacy. The information you share with us is held in strictest confidence, unavailable to anyone other than your health care professionals without your express permission. Your information will not be shared or sold to any other company or institution. Likewise, we respect donor privacy and release information about the donors only with the donor's permission.

We use it only to process your order. Your name, address, date of birth, phone number, email address, credit card type, credit card number and billing/shipping address are required. The credit card companies want to make sure that only the owner is using the card, so they may not approve purchases where the information does not match.

Can I return sperm if not used?

No, we do not restock sperm that has left our premises. European Sperm Bank has full control over sperm from the time of the donation until it leaves our premises. Once it leaves our facility, we are no longer certain of its history, so in good faith, it cannot be offered to professionals and their patients. However, European Sperm Bank can store sperm for your future use for a storage fee.
